Atlanta

As the Peach State's Capitol and county seat of Fulton County, Atlanta is home to about 450,000 people and the economic and cultural center of the metro area. Encompassing $304 billion, metro Atlanta is the eighth largest economy in the country and 17th largest in the world. Corporate operations comprise a large portion of the Atlanta's economy, with the city serving as the regional, national and headquarters for many corporations.

Buckhead

If you’re looking for an upscale, coveted and affluent neighborhood in Atlanta, Buckhead is for you. Located north of Midtown and south of Brookhaven, the prestigious area is known as the Beverly Hills of the South and as the shopping mecca of the Southeast. You will also find fine dining, endless entertainment and numerous renowned cultural centers. You will find a wide variety of options from modern single condos to large estates. It holds the title of ninth richest ZIP code in the U.S., and art and history flourish in Buckhead with more than 30 acres of gardens at the Atlanta History Center.

Sandy Springs

Located just outside of the 285 perimeter, this city is far enough away from Atlanta for a bit of peace and quiet, but close enough that a leisurely ride on MARTA or drive on Georgia 400 puts Midtown Atlanta just 20 minutes away.

Brookhaven

Druid Hills

Druid Hills is one of Atlanta’s most prestigious neighborhoods. The area is one of the major works by famous landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted—designer of landscapes for the U.S. Capitol, New York City’s Central Park and the Biltmore Estate in Ashville, NC. With Georgian homes, elegant estates and beautiful landscapes, the area is a peaceful, upscale urban neighborhood that’s heavily populated with Atlanta’s elites. Located about five miles east of downtown Atlanta, Druid Hills has around 15,000 residents and some of the area’s top schools. The Druid Hills Civic Association works relentlessly to preserve the neighborhood’s beauty and history.

Midtown Atlanta

If you’re moving to Atlanta and looking for convenience, Midtown is the place for you. Known as the city’s cultural epicenter (and one of the most desirable areas to live in Atlanta), the neighborhood offers easy access to Atlanta’s transportation, more than 200 acres of parks and gardens, restaurants, shops and thriving Midtown Arts District. It’s home to the Woodruff Arts Center, Fox Theatre, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the High Museum of Arts. The grid streets of Midtown are a community epicenter of business, technology and culture. One of the fastest-evolving and growing residential areas in the city, Midtown boasts high- and low-rise lofts and condos, and traditional single homes neighborhoods.

Intown Neighborhoods

Ansley Park: An affluent residential neighborhood and dedicated historic district, Ansley Park sits astride Peachtree Street and is adjacent to the famous Piedmont Park. Cabbagetown: Undergoing tremendous growth during Atlanta’s Intown renaissance in the early 1990s, Cabbagetown has been revitalized by an influx of artists and musicians. Many murals and street art pieces, maintained by the Living Walls street art association, keep the area’s love of the arts alive.

Candler Park: A beloved area of East Atlanta, Candler Park is not quite as hectic, hosting fancifully painted houses with yards, quirky shops and restaurants.

Grant Park: The oldest city park in Atlanta, Grant Park’s Victorian neighborhood is home to Zoo Atlanta. Many of the buildings, from large, two-story mansions to modified Queen Anne houses, were built when the neighborhood was established in 1882.

Inman Park: Established in the 1890s, Inman Park prides itself on being Atlanta’s first suburb. Known for its shops, public parks and dedicated Tree Watch, this neighborhood comes alive with festivals, parades and a focus on all things local, from galleries and markets to eateries.

Old Fourth Ward: The Old Fourth Ward is one of Atlanta’s hippest new communities. Known as one of Atlanta’s most historic neighborhoods and the home and resting place of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Old Fourth Ward has become a bustling and diverse district packed with nightlife and art galleries. As the start of the Atlanta Beltline project, Old Fourth Ward offers residents more than 17 acres of green space.

Poncey-Highland: Nestled in the middle of several dynamic Intown neighborhoods, Poncey-Highland is rich with all the amenities of urban living, including unique, quality restaurants, shops and galleries, great schools and a variety of housing options including historic and new single family homes, and condominiums.

Virginia-Highland: Virginia Highland combines vibrant city living with small-town community charm. Located east of Ansley Park and close to Downtown, the area consists of four distinct villages connected by walkable blocks. With over 100-year-old homes, Virginia Highland is one of Atlanta’s most sought-after places to live. Styles range from charming bungalows to beautiful Victorians to modern townhouses.

Atlantic Station

Located along 17th Street on the former Atlantic Steel Mill site, Atlantic Station is a newer and vibrant community taking “live, work, play” to the limit. Atlantic Station isn’t just home to world-class dining, shopping and entertainment. Residents enjoy plenty of world class dining, shopping, entertainment and greenery. It is an unbeatable strategic location in the heart of Midtown, ideal for those who prefer to be conveniently located near world-class amenities (including quick access to MARTA).

Downtown Atlanta

The central business district, Downtown Atlanta is home to many corporate and regional headquarters, government facilities, sporting venues and Georgia State University. Containing the city skyline’s tallest buildings, Downtown is also the heart of the city’s most iconic architecture.

Castleberry Hill

Castleberry Hill is on the National Register of Historic Places – the railway that runs through this hood is old as the city itself and is known as Atlanta’s historic creative district. It is made up of early 20th century warehouse buildings that have been converted into lofts, which are now the predominant housing type. Growing in retail and entertainment establishments, this neighborhood hosts a beloved annual art stroll showcasing the area’s many galleries and restaurants.

Vinings

This charming unincorporated area of Cobb County was Georgia’s sole representative on Money Magazine’s 2017 list of “The Best Places to Live in America,” and is known for its small-town atmosphere complete with a Victorian-inspired village square filled with high-end boutiques and critically acclaimed restaurants. Ideally situated between two major interstate systems, Vinings offers a well-rounded mix of established older neighborhoods, new swim/tennis communities, condominiums and townhomes.

Smyrna

Settled by pioneers in 1832, Smyrna has become one of the most popular places to reside in the metro area. With its small-town vibe, and convenient location only 10 miles north of downtown Atlanta, Smyrna is exploding with new mixed-use developments featuring stylish single-family homes, condominiums and townhomes offering an alternative to the more established neighborhoods the city has been known for in the past.

Marietta

Located in Cobb County just north of Downtown Atlanta, Marietta is one of the most popular and fastest growing cities in the metro area. Settled in 1824, Marietta is one of the oldest cities in Georgia. A mixture of recently established neighborhoods and flourishing business districts coexist with several sites on the National Register of Historic Places, including the original town square and several significant buildings and neighborhoods around town. Residents love the city’s convenient location, historic charm and abundance of housing options ranging from historic mansions and established neighborhoods with one-acre lots, to luxury condominium communities.

Roswell

Founded in 1836, Roswell is now the eighth largest city in Georgia and has twice been voted the best place to live in the metro area by Atlanta magazine. With 13 parks, many well-preserved historical sites and a ranking of the 18th safest-city in the U.S., Roswell is a family-oriented community.

N. Fulton Cities

Just 22 miles north of Atlanta, Alpharetta offers a full spectrum of attractions, excellent schools, sensible housing costs and historic Southern charm, while remaining close to Atlanta’s global employers — part of the reason Forbes magazine chose Alpharetta as the nation’s No. 1 “reloville” in 2017.

Johns Creek is nestled along the banks of the Chattahoochee River at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains, this city’s beautiful landscape offers additional aesthetic appeal to an already beautiful metropolis. Schools here are the strongest in the state and business is booming, making Johns Creek one of the wealthiest cities in metro Atlanta.

Milton was incorporated in March 2006 and in 2011 was voted ninth best for quality of life in the South by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. A highly affluent city, Milton is bordered by Roswell and Alpharetta on the south side and is easily accessible via Georgia 400.

Dunwoody

Dunwoody is now a city with a population of 48,857. Dunwoody is in DeKalb County and is one of the best places to live in Georgia. Living in Dunwoody offers residents an urban feel and most residents own their homes. In Dunwoody there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Public schools in Dunwoody are above average.
